We understand that the transition to Grade School can be a daunting prospect for children and parents alike. Many families worry about how well their child will adjust to this big change, and that’s where we come in!
Starting on Wednesday 2nd July, 2025, and running each afternoon throughout the summer, our optional extracurricular program supports children in developing life skills that will help them during this transition and set them up for success in their next chapter of education.
Skill-building activities will include:
Practical life skills, such as dressing themselves, putting their shoes on, putting things away, and tidying up after themselves.
Culinary skills, such as making their own snacks.
Confidence skills, such as being able to ask teachers for help when needed.
Social skills, such as being able to play independently with friends and form connections with other children.
Conflict resolution skills, such as how to interact with their peers and handle conflict.
Problem-solving and teamwork skills, applicable to life inside and outside of the classroom.
School Skills, such as active listening and understanding routine.
Did you know that the benefits of enrolling your child in this program include:
- Allowing children to explore and learn in a safe environment, where they can build confidence in their skills and practice what they’ve learned in a small group before term time begins.
- Giving children the opportunity to interact with others their age throughout the program, so they can continue the development of key social skills outside of their usual social circles.
- Giving your child a head start in their learning journey, meaning that when school rolls around, they can focus on settling into their new environment.
